Our story & commitment

A Legacy of Service Rooted in Somerset

Oak Funeral Services was founded on a simple yet profound principle: to provide the highest standard of compassionate funeral care to our neighbours. We are not a large, impersonal corporation. We are local people, born and raised in this beautiful county, and we have an intimate understanding of its traditions, values, and people.

Our history is built on a foundation of trust, earned one family at a time. We have had the privilege of supporting generations of families through their most challenging moments, and we consider it an honour to be entrusted with the care of their loved ones. Being local means we are always close by, ready to respond with immediate assistance. It means we understand the local churches, crematoria, and natural burial grounds. Most importantly, it means we see you as our neighbours, not just as clients.

Integrity

We are committed to honesty and transparency in every interaction.

Empathy

Compassion is at the heart of everything we do.

Nick began his career in the funeral industry 25 years ago, initially working with horse-drawn funerals. I cannot thank the team at Oak Funeral Services enough for their professionalism and kindness in dealing with my dads funeral. Julie in particular was amazing from start to finish. Extremely thorough and her attention to detail was excellent. She made my mum and myself feel very at ease during what was a very stressful and upsetting time. The care that was given to my dad was absolutely first class, which was extremely comforting to know that he was being so well looked after. When it came to the service, Julie delivered it exceptionally along with the rest of the team. I really wouldn't go anywhere else for funeral services highly recommend Julie and the team at Oak Funeral Services.
